A Simple Question
31 Wildcards: Deadlands - Twitter RP - Season 3
Howell has a difficult time answering
Howell: The question rang through his head. "Did you find your Ludie?" Howell had indeed found her, but she was not the same. She could see the future. Now, to be fair, she had always told him about how she had strange visions, but he just brushed it off as bad dreams or a sudden fever. But ever since he lost his ranch and the rest of his life months ago, he'd also seen strange things. Not visions in a sleeping dream... things right in front of him, clear as day. He had seen horrid woodland creatures with elongated necks hunger for his flesh. He had seen a pumpkin man riddle and tease him in a house of horrors. He had seen an entire town crumble to ash in a hellmouth of fire and fury, all while the residents tore each other asunder. As much as he wanted to deny it, the world wasn't what it seemed anymore.
So when Ludie told him that she had seen a future where they raised a daughter who becomes a hellish she-devil and ruins the world, he knew that there was a chance that it would become truth, whole and real. She wouldn't allow it. Shutting him out was the only way. Howell looked up at Gabriel, who was staring at him, still awaiting an answer to his question. He let out a sigh and said "Yeah, preacher. I found her. But, she ain't mine no more." He reached into his vest pocket and pulled out a simple golden ring. He paused and looked at it. "But, she ain't gone. She's safe here, and she's got a job to do." He put the ring back in his pocket. "We all got a job to do. I intend to move forward with it." He put on his hat, set it straight, and smiled. "And when it's good and done, I reckon we'll see each other again."
